How to Upgrade Royal Pickaxe in DDV
The Royal Pickaxe is an important tool that is mainly used to mine gems and minerals, break rocks, and clear different obstacles. Players get it as part of the introductory quest, The Royal Tools, from a giant rock behind Scrooge’s shop in the Plaza.
The first two Royal Pickaxe upgrades are given by Maui after you unlock Moana’s Realm for 3,000 Dreamlight and complete his friendship level two and four quests, called The Great Maui and A Tale of Stone and Fire. In these quests, Maui will upgrade the pickaxe for you to clean up small and large sea debris.
To get the next two pickaxe upgrades, unlock the Frozen Realm for 4,000 Dreamlight and bring Elsa to Dreamlight Valley. Complete her friendship quests, ‘Breaking the Ice’ and ‘The Singing Ice,’ after which she will give you an enchanted pickaxe that can break any icy obstacles.

Players can then upgrade the shovel with the Shovel Blade to remove both large and small tree stumps.

First, players have to unlock Scar by completing The Curse quest from Mother Gothel in Sunlit Plateau. Then, increase your friendship level with Scar and complete the quests Breaking Bones and The Circle of Life to be able to clear small and large wildebeest bones in the Dreamlight Valley.
